Dual use opportunities in emerging technologies on agenda for Helsinki conference

National and regional authorities gather in Helsinki on 1-2 June to share experiences on smart specialisation strategies, review technology-development funding options and find cooperation partners across the EU in energy, cybersecurity, health, maritime and many other industries. More than 120 smart specialisation strategies are shaping investments across the EU during 2014-20.
Dual use opportunities in the above sectors will be among the topics of discussion. In particular, the conference’s session “Investing in new sources of growth” – will feature a presentation on Croatia’s experience with smart specialisation in the area of dual use. Regions are very welcome to participate to the ensuing structured group discussion.
Participants will share their experience about projects supported by the EU’s Structural Funds and other instruments that promote research, industrial policy, education and skills. Feedback from the conference will help shape the future of the EU’s cohesion policy after 2020.
