GICAT is the French Land and Air-Land Defence and Security Industry Association. It brings together a cluster of over 280 members, representing more than 23,000 direct jobs and a EUR 7.7 billion turnover.
GICAT has 7 committees promoting best practices and development in key areas: Human Resources; Communication; SMEs; Security; Research, Technology and Innovation; Support and Services; and International Affairs. Around 69% of GICAT companies are SMEs, many of which are based in regions that face challenges when it comes to attracting skilled workers. Furthermore, more than half of the members are dual, working in both security and defence sectors.
At a national level, GICAT works closely with the Land Army, the French Defence Procurement Agency and Security Forces.
GICAT’s international outreach relies on its subsidiary COGES, through the organisation of world-class trade exhibitions, including: Eurosatory in France, Platinum Security in Monaco, ShieldAfrica in Ivory Coast and ExpoDefensa in Colombia.
