SEKPY is, a non-profit association of Hellenic Defence Manufacturers, established in 1982. Mission of SEKPY is to “Support and Promote the interests of its members in the domestic and international market and in Defence Research Projects and to Advise the Hellenic Authorities on Defence Industrial and Research & Technology policy”.

At a national level, SEKPY works closely with the Hellenic Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces, the General Directorate for Defense Investments and Armaments (MoD/GDDIA) and the Security Forces.

SEKPY’s international outreach relies on its subsidiary SEKPY IKE, through the organization of International Defence Exhibition DEFEA in Athens and through the organization of the Hellenic Pavilions of International Exhibitions including: Eurosatory and Euronaval.

SEKPY consists of over 200 Members, mainly SMEs, with a total members’ employees over 12.000.

SEKPY’s Activities are:

• Provide recommendations to the MoD and other Governmental Authorities regarding the national strategy for the development of the Hellenic defense industry.
• Participate in the formulation and implementation of national policy regarding Procurements, Offsets, Industrial Participation and R&D in the defense sector.
• Secure domestic industry participation in armaments and defense R&D programs.
• Collaborate with corresponding associations worldwide aiming at the promotion of joint industrial collaboration projects.
• Represent Hellenic defense industry in national and international conferences.
• Perform specialized studies related to defense industry issues.
• Support the Promotion of Hellenic defense products and services to the international market.
• Brief its members on the developments of the Hellenic and international defense environment.
• Support its members on their core business and their cooperation with the Hellenic MoD
• Organize conferences, seminars and workshops.
• Assist foreign industries, interested to pursue business cooperation in the domestic defense market.
